All of a sudden they have to work late, work weekends, go on business trips overnight. Check wage slips /bank statements to see if overtime is added on wage. Ask if you can go on the business trip. Check credit card bills for hotel location and see if it’s where it should be. If you can’t get hold of them phone a workmate and ask about overtime, business trips.

Do they go on lots more work nights out / parties where partners are not allowed to attend? Talk to other people in their work that you know and find out if other people take their partner.

Do they offer to go out to shops for anything whereas before they never would? Do they go out each night at the same time to walk dog, get petrol when they didn’t before? Are they meeting someone or phoning someone whilst they are out, try phoning them and see what happens.

Are they suddenly taking a pride in their appearance that was never there before, new clothes, sexy underwear, expensive jewellery or perfume / aftershave? Is this gifts someone is buying them or are they making the effort for someone other than you? Do they smell of a perfume or aftershave that’s not yours, get close and smell!

Are they spending more than normal? Check bank statements, credit cards for any purchases they are making and see which items are being bought.

When you go out socially are they always encouraging a certain person to come too or do you always seem to bump into the same person?

Why can’t they just enjoy your company? Observe the other person with your partner, body language can be a dead give away!

 

Do they always seem to start petty little fights with you over nothing so that one of you storms out the house? Maybe they are trying to get rid of you or away from you for a phone call or to meet up with someone.
