Is their phone always switched off, left in the car at night, set to ring on silent? Check if the phone is on silent or vibrate, RING IT. Then see what happens, if they look uneasy and suddenly leave the room or go to the toilet its highly likely they don’t want to look at their phone in front of you. If they have voice mail on their mobile phone it can often be accessed by dialling their mobile phone number from another number find out how and do it!

Does their phone never leave their sight or person, whereas before it just lay about anywhere? You could put their sim card in your mobile this sometimes lets you see their messages or put your sim in their phone, the message be stored on the phone and you can read them. Or wait until they fall asleep and have a look, always check sent messages!

Are they hesitant and stressed if you ask to look at their phone? It’s quite possible there is something on their phone they don’t want you to see.

Does their phone now have a pin number lock where as it didn’t before? Try and find the pin code usually a bank card pin number or date of birth.

Have their mobile phone bills substantially increased? Do you always get voice mail? Do you phone and they hang up? Or do they speak in a quiet voice? Check phone bills to see if the same number is called repeatedly, phone it and ask for an anonymous person they say their name. Check the mobile phone call register, that’s if you can get your hands on it!

Do you also receive many more hang up phone calls to your landline phone; as soon as YOU speak they hang up? Try using 1471 or last caller identity to see if it’s same telephone number, or if it’s always withheld then contact Phone Company to ban withheld numbers calling you.
